Ski season is *almost* here, and over the weekend we managed a short and sweet jaunt up to Brandywine Meadows to test out our skins!

I took the big camera with me to capture the tenth birthday of the sweet @honey_and_coya with @bearcubkate - happy birthday ladies!

As I made my way to Bowen Island, the sea was angr

As I made my way to Bowen Island, the sea was angry. Waves battered the ferry and dark clouds were slung over the mountains in the distance. I was on my way to a photoshoot and desperately wishing for a pause in the storm.
.
I arrived on the island and hunkered down in a cafe for a couple hours of computer work before heading to the location. By the time I’d had my second coffee, the sun was absolutely beaming. A photoshoot miracle!
.
I met @alidaedwards_coaching at the gorgeous @arkretreathouse. Used for yoga and meditation, the retreat space is nestled high in the forest, overlooking a lake. Sun beamed through the windows, creating the most beautiful shadows.
.
Alida is a fitness trainer who lives on Bowen. She trains clients both virtually and in person. She is silly and beautiful and strong. We flowed from one exercise to the next, using the space as best we could.

A golden evening in Denmark.
This summer, our family was invited to celebrate our cousin Anja’s wedding. It had been twenty years since I’d last visited, and it was a perfect opportunity to connect with extended aunts, uncles and cousins, and spend some time with immediate family.
The first few days at our cousin Rene & Lisbeth’s were idyllic. Rolling farmland, extended sunsets, warm days and clear skies. This night we all dined outside together, and ran around their property, jumping on the trampoline and playing frisbee golf. I also forced family photos on everyone, as I tend to like to do 😉
With light this perfect, how could I not?! ❤️

Whether she’s giving design tips (be sure to follow @houselovebycarrie), becoming a trail runner, or enjoying a “nightcap,” Carrie does it all with grace - and a bit of a twinkle in her eye 😉
She is one of the most stylish people I know. Her eye for design is eclectic, classy and energetic. Her creative generosity ranges from interior styling to personal shopping. She’s helped many of us decorate our homes and find *just* the right outfit.
I am so grateful for her listening ear and calm advice, her silly faces (there are mannyyyy 🤪), and for being our go-to crash pad while we’re in the city.

Classic Vancouver weather for Choir Choir Choir ☔️

In 2011, while living and working in Toronto, I overheard my office mate singing to himself. Curious, and somewhat lulled by the sound of someone singing across cubicles, I asked him what he was humming. He told me that once a week, he went to a small singing group that was hosted at a bar. Two guys led the group - splitting people into sections, and teaching them simple harmonies to pop songs.

Curious, I decided to show up to the next show with my video camera and capture the process. It was joyful, boisterous, funny and a bit confusing. It was also one of the most heartfelt gatherings I’d found, singing beside strangers. I edited the video - Wham’s “Last Christmas” - which would become the first of many videos created by CCC over the next decade.
.
The concept behind Choir Choir Choir is simple: show up and sing. No skills or prior experience is necessary.
CCC has covered artists from Taylor Swift, Leonard Cohen, Tom Petty, Madonna, The Barenaked Ladies, Fleetwood Mac and more!
.
Nobu and Daveed have created a vessel of goodness, love and levity - a place for anyone and for everyone - to join and create together.
.
Lucky for me, even though we moved across the country, I’ve kept in touch with CCC over the years and have been fortunate to film a number of events out here on the west coast. And last night, before the doors opened to the public, we snuck out into the alley behind the venue to snap a few pics.
